Donation of Goods
Shelter Our Sisters is most often in need of the following items. New items are always preferable. Note that each SOS program may have different needs. For more specific information please call the shelter at 201-836-1075.
Children's Program
- Items for teenagers - board games, clothing, shoes, gift certificates, etc.
- New underwear, socks, pajamas, robes for all ages
- Baby supplies, monitors and diapers
- Art supplies - colored pencils, children's scissors, thin colored markers, art & craft kits
- School supplies - back packs esp. for older children, binders, notebook paper
- New child & teen journals
- Birthday wrapping paper
- GIFT CERTIFICATES are always appreciated.
Gift certificates may be purchased for clothing, shoes, sneakers, gifts for children and teens, baby items and apparatus for children (high chairs,car seats, etc.) SOS assists all present and former clients who are in need and gift certificates are especially valuable for clients who live in the community.
Emergency and Transitional Shelters
- Household items inc: pots, silverware, appliances, tupperware, utensils
- Linens (twin sheets), blankets, towels and pillows
- Paper goods
- Maintenance supplies - brooms/mops; cleaning supplies
- Food - canned and packaged
- Toiletries - full size
- New underwear, socks, pajamas and shoes
- Slippers/ slipper socks, robes
- Alarm clocks
- Calling cards
- Misc. items: umbrellas, clock radios, calculators, flashlights, bulbs
- GIFT CERTIFICATES are always appreciated.
Gift certificates may be purchased for food, household items, clothing, gifts for children and teens, hair and nail salons, shoes, sneakers, office supplies, pharmacy items and leather goods.
(Work readiness training for women)
- Office supplies - resume paper, folders, pens
- Computer supplies - formatted disks, training software
- Dictionaries and thesauruses in all languages
- Work bags - Portfolios, attache
- GIFT CERTIFICATES are always appreciated.
Gift certificates may be purchased for interview clothing, hair and nail salons, shoes, office supplies, computer-related supplies and software.
