We are grateful for all contributors who give time, energy and resources to ensure that SOS is there 24 hours, 365 days each year, fostering healing and change.

Pathway To Self Sufficiency

The Pathway To Self Sufficiency, is a garden and walkway (made of bricks) created in partnership between Shelter Our Sisters and the County of Bergen, Department of Parks. The Pathway honors the journey that survivors of domestic violence make on their way to self-sufficiency and memorializes those who did not survive. The Pathway serves as a constant reminder of the issue of domestic violence. As a beautification project in Van Saun Park, Paramus (parking lot 4), the Pathway is open to the public and enjoyed by many.

You can purchase a personalized brick (sizing and prices below) or make a donation toward the Pathway.

  • 4” by 8” - $125
  • 8” by 8” - $250
  • 8” by 8” Center Circle - $400
