The Record

"Women's shelter program stands tough to stay open" is a perfect opportunity to shed some light on the confusion between two similarly named organization with the same acronym.  Shelter Our Sisters, and Strengthen Our Sisters, the subject of the article, are two distinct agencies with very different programs and philosophies, serving separate counties.

For more than 34 years, Shelter Our Sisters has been providing services to thousands of individuals and families affected by domestic violence in Bergen County: emergency and transitional housing, case management, children's programming, legal advocacy, Hispanic outreach, work-readiness training, community linkages and community education.

For assistance with a crisis, please call Shelter Our Sisters' hot line at 201-944-9600.  For other agency information, please call 201-498-9247.
