When Elaine Meyerson, a Hillsdale resident, came to Shelter Our Sisters in 1986, the agency was in turmoil.  The board had dismissed the previous director, the administration was in disarray and a lot of ties to the community were frayed.  Meyerson, who is celebrating her 25ht year as executive director of the Bergen County domestic violence agency, worked to build up Shelter Our Sisters as a communtity bastion, one with meaning, purpose and the money to help.
