Children's Services

The Children’s program facilitates a preschool program for children ages 2-5, five days per week. Emphasis is placed on building self-esteem, self-confidence, and learning appropriate behaviors. Afternoon programming has been structured for school-aged children, which includes tutoring, recreational activities, and community trips. School transfers are arranged for children out of their district.

SOS is committed to empowering mothers as parents by supporting their decisions with their children. At the same time, the staff places a great deal of emphasis on non-violent forms of discipline and love of their children.

Project CHILD is a new children's program. It is a creative arts therapy program designed to assist children devastated by the ravaging effects of domestic violence. The program is for children ages 4-12 and that we offer group and individual therapy. Project CHILD’s goals are to build confidence, hope, independence, love and direction. The therapy modalities includes art and music and by participation, children often find it easier to express themselves as they heal from the effects of violence. Counseling for their mothers, casemanagement and transportation are additional services
